The weekend of Oct. 18

The weekend of Oct. 18 showcased teams from Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Utah, Arizona and British Columbia—all vying for a chance at the silver stick trophy. Each year teams compete in the Silver Stick tourney and the Rocky Mountain Qualifier has become one of the top competitions. There have been five champions come from this qualifier.

Said tournament director Dave Dygert, “It was an excellent tournament with many outstanding games.” He went on to highlight one of the best games between the Front Range Panthers and the Boulder Bison in the Squirt A final. The game remained tied after two overtimes so they went into a shootout. Front Range then took the title.

For 15 years, Colorado has hosted teams from 17 different states and three Canadian provinces. Jack Kinsella, the founder of the International Silver Stick Association, would be proud of how his efforts have progressed to promote citizenship and goodwill.
Congrats to the Colorado division winners:

Squirt A - Front Range Panthers, Bantam AA - Hyland Hills Jaguars, Midget Minor A - Hyland Hills Jaguars, Midget Minor AA - Colorado Thunderbirds AAA 14U. Four Colorado teams will be advancing to the Silver Stick Finals. Front Range Panthers Squirt A's will go to Sarnia, Ontario, Hyland Hills Jaguars Bantam AA's will go to Port Huron, Michigan and the Hyland Hills Jaguars Midget Minor A and Boulder Bison '93 will go to Newmarket, Ontario.
Good luck to all of you!
