Littleton Pee Wee AA Win State

The Littleton PeeWee AA team took its 19-1-2 conference record into the Tier II state playoffs last week. There where six teams that qualified for the state finals. Littleton Hawks, Co Springs Tigers, Boulder Bison, Arapahoe Warriors, CHC Rampage, and Front Range.
No. 1 seeded Littleton would play No. 6 seeded Front Range and the hawks came out flying and hitting from the drop of the puck. A bigger faster Littleton team overwhelmed Front Range from start to finish. Hawks won 6-1.
Game two pitted the Hawks against No. 5 seeded CHC Rampage. These two teams formed a fierce rivalry over the course of the season. David Fromm the current head coach of the Littleton Hawks, spent the last three years coaching at CHC, specifically coaching the group that formed the CHC Pee Wee AA team. The Hawks scored the first two goals. That would be the end of the scoring for the Hawks. CHC rallied back out working and out-skating the No. 1 seeded team all over the rink. The Rampage would score four straight goals and steal the win.
Game three became a must-win for the Hawks. They would have to beat cross-town rival Arapahoe. The game was well played by both teams as each skated hard, hit hard and played with intensity. The Hawks came at the Warriors in waves using the depth of their bench and their team speed to pull out the victory. Hawks won 4-2.
Littleton advanced into the playoffs and would face the Tigers of Colorado Springs. The Tigers had the Hawks’ number during the season. The Tigers beat the Hawks in the Quebec Qualifier finals and that game represented the only loss on the Hawks’ league record. The Tigers drew first blood ten seconds into the game but the Hawks responded with seven straight goals and would finish the game with nine tallies. The Tigers scored two late goals to make it a 9-3 final for Littleton.
State Championships CHC vs Hawks
Littleton would get a chance to avenge their earlier loss to the Rampage in the biggest game of the season for both teams. CHC came out hungry and scored the first goal early in the first period. The goal was scored by No. 23 Christian Gums from the point. The Hawks would take control of the game from that point forward. Mid way through the second period the Hawks would take advantage of a power play opportunity. Mike Eyssimont, the leagues leading scorer, walked out from the corner and slid a pass across to Brandon Fushimi, the leagues second leading scorer, for the first Hawk goal. A few minutes later Ryder Stoglin of the Hawks took the puck wide and deep putting a sauce pass on the stick of Brandon Fushimi, who buried a one timer past the Tigers goalie. Halfway into the third the Hawks would strike a third time. Fushimi to Ryder Stoglin on a perfect give-and-go play out of the corner. The Rampage would get life late in the third with back-to-back penalties on the Hawks, giving the Rampage a two-man advantage in the last two minutes of regulation. The Rampage would pull the goalie giving them a 6-on-3 advantage. Littleton goalie Joe Morgan would keep the puck out the whole two minutes making one fantastic save after another. The Hawks would finally clear the puck and take home the Pee Wee State Championship.
The Hawks will represent Colorado at the USA Hockey Regional finals to be held in Boise, Idaho March 15-17. Teams from Arizona, Texas, Utah and Idaho will all be there trying to win their way to the National Finals.
